What you need to do to enter Greece and what you can expect of us on board

Covid-19 has had a huge impact on us and has created a huge headache for us and our holiday plans, but we all do well to try and live with it as best we can. At Sailblazer, we are doing our best to provide very much needed escapes at sea, where the good news is that risk of infection is less than a holiday on land an dyou can stay in your bubble as much as you like. Please read the information below on what you must do to enter Greece (it changes regularly, responding to the changing affects and challenges of the virus) so do come back and revisit here often. If you or anyone travelling with you are/is particularly vulnerable to a potential infection of Covid-19 then please contact us and let us know, so that we can best manage your time with us and do our utmost to make an infection as least likely as posible.

What Covid-19 protocol must you follow to enter Greece?

  • Tourists must fill in the Passenger Locator Form (PLF) no later than 23:59 (11.59 PM) of the day before arriving in Greece.
  • Τravelers arriving in Greece are required to have a negative PCR certificate from a testing laboratory, for a Covid-19 test taken no later than 72 hours before arrival. This test is mandatory for all tourists (including children over the age of 5), regardless of the epidemiological situation in the country of departure.
  • Proof of a negative test is not required however for all travelers that have completed their vaccination (i.e., 14 days have elapsed since the last vaccination, depending on the doses required) and hold a vaccination certificate.
  • Proof of a negative PCR test is not required if the traveler was tested positive with COVID-19 in the past 2 to 9 months.
  • Acceptable vaccines are: Pfizer BioNtech, Moderna, Astra Zeneca / Oxford, Novavax, Johnson + Johnson / Janssen, Sinovac Biotech, Gamaleya (Sputnik), Cansino Biologics, Sinopharm among others.
  • Every traveler who arrives in Greece, regardless of the certificate in their possession, may undergo a random health screening. If you are selected, please keep in mind that the screening is mandatory.
  • The countries from which entry is allowed, under the aforementioned conditions, without the requirement for subsequent self-isolation are: EU & Schengen Area countries, USA, UK, Israel, Serbia, UAE, New Zealand, Australia, South Korea, Thailand, Rwanda, Singapore, the Russian Federation, North Macedonia, Canada, Belarus, Bahrein, Qatar, China, Kuwait, Ukraine, and Saudi Arabia.
  • Non-EU citizens are strongly advised to choose direct flights to Greece. In any other case, travelers should abide by the stop-over country requirements.

With the Greek government leading the way in limiting the spread of Covid-19, Sailblazer is in a great position to offer guests a safe sailing holiday for the 2022 season. We are working hard to revise and create new polices and measures to ensure you receive the best quality safety procedures, advice and service.

Sailblazer is focused on keeping up to date with the latest Greek authority regulations, as well as, WHO, CDC, RYA and UK government policies, therefore our polices are evolving to provide up-to-date government advice.

Please be aware that this page may be updated and changed at any time to comply with current government advice and regulations.

The following information is intended to inform you of what is required and recommended of the guests, skipper and crew due to Covid-19 while on holiday in Greece.

General Information

Sailblazer Team

  • All staff members will be temperature and pulse checked every day before starting work
  • All staff members will undergo weekly testing
  • All staff will strictly adhere to social distancing rules (1.5 meters apart by law)
  • All staff will wear the appropriate PPE when in contact with guests and other staff members
  • Strict handwashing and sanitation procedures have been implemented around the workplace
  • Our breakdown rib and team have been issued with the relevant PPE to be able to deal with a suspected case of Covid-19
  • Our staff have received extra training to help minimise Covid-19 risk and provide the correct up to date information to guests including health care facilities on different islands

What can you do to help?

  • Please bring your own gloves, masks & sanitizer. We will supply antibacterial spray for surfaces. A hand sanitizer will be on the companionway of all yachts
  • Bring self tests with you if possible – these will be needed for boarding the yacht and travelling between the islands. Otherwise you can buy rapid tests from pharmacies here.
  • Maintain social distancing and wear PPE when not possible
  • ALL guests must have completed the Pre boarding health declaration before embarkation
  • For health reasons we cannot supply snorkeling equipment. If you have your own please bring them with you or we will have a selection in our new shop at very reasonable prices and you can take home afterwards

Yacht Cleaning

Sailblazer is following the guidelines set out by the Greek Government and will comply with any direction given by the authorities.  Your yacht will be cleaned, sanitized and prepared with inventory check before arrival.  The initial sanitizing takes place once the previous clients have left the yacht

  • After our engineers, cleaners, skippers, inventory personnel have completed their jobs the yacht will be fogged and sealed.  No one else will go on board before your arrival
  • We appreciate your patience if your yacht is not ready on arrival as these new procedures do take time
  • The welcome pack will be stored in the fridge. We will supply you with water, beer, wine, some savoury snacks, olive oil and salt & pepper in sealed packets.
